Optical Coherence Tomography, 3D OCT for short, in Berlin

OCT is a non-contact, non-invasive and completely painless eye exam, which provides a detailed, 3D scan of the tissue lining at the back of the eye (retina). OCT eye tests are quick to perform, lasting around 2-3 minutes. Working in a similar way to an ultrasound, the OCT eye test emits light waves to create high definition pictures of the structural layers beneath the retina. This allows the ophthalmologist to give patients of all ages a highly advanced eye examination and aids the early detection and treatment of a wide range of eye conditions. It also provides treamtent guidance for glaucoma and diseaes of the retina, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic macular edema.
